Brilliant article which sums up some important points. I’m from Pembrokeshire, but live in Canada now. Canada has a much higher percentage of immigrants than Wales, but it feels like these people are made to feel more welcome and more Canadian than immigrants at home.

Maybe this is because Welsh people are afraid their already diluted culture may become extinct if immigration continues, whereas Canada is a country entirely populated by immigrants, so they embrace different cultures?

Perhaps the Assembly Government’s Welsh language scheme will show people that Welsh traditions and language can flourish at the same time as immigration.
